East Kentwood jumped out to a 1-0 lead two and a half minutes into the game on a powerplay goal by Jeff Sanders with assists to Anthony Pino and Ben Grover. EK would take that 1-0 lead into the third period only to have the Trojans answer with a powerplay goal of their own 1:02 into the final period. Dane Macdonell scored the equalizer with assists to Alex Goodhue and Shane Darrow. Riley Huffman would put the Trojans up 2-1 two minutes later with assists going to Travis Clary and Trevor Mattis. Darrow would push the Trojans lead to 3-1 at 6:55 of the third and then add an empty netter with 24 seconds left in the game. Macdonell and Goodhue assisted on Darrow's first tally with Devin Senchuk and Macdonell picking up assists on the empty net goal. Daniel Spencer picked up the win in goal for the Trojans finishing with 25 saves. Zach Bresko made 18 saves for the Falcons.
