The Trojans jumped out to a 1-0 lead, just 33 seconds into the game, on a goal by Chris Archambo (Devin Senchuk, Shane Darrow). Darrow (Archambo) followed up with a power play goal at the 6:49 mark of the first period to put the Trojans up 2-0 at the first intermission.

Birmingham Unified cut the Trojans lead to 2-1 on a goal by Adam Solomon (Mitch Kessel) just 2:19 into the second period, but Trojan defenseman Eric Swy (Alex Goodhue) helped regain the two goal lead scoring at 7:06 of the second period. BU then scored four straight goals, including two on the power play and one shorthanded to take a 5-3 lead into the second intermission. BU goals were scored by Travis Scoggin (Kyle Papke), Nick Hurite (Scoggin, Papke - PPG), Papke (unassisted - PPG), and Papke (unassisted - SHG).

The Trojans scored four unanswered goals in the third period, three on the power play, to pull away with the 7-5 victory. Archambo (Darrow, E. Swy - PPG) got things started for the Trojans a short 12 seconds into the third period, followed by goals from Goodhue (Archambo, E. Swy - PPG), Darrow (E. Swy), and Derek Gardiner (Goodhue, Archambo - PPG).

The Trojans will meet Orchard Lake St. Mary's in Saturday's championship game at 3:45pm.
