Traverse City Central scored a trio of third-period goals to hold off the Bay Reps 6-3 in the opening round of the Traverse City Central Holiday Tournament.

The Trojans scored their first four goals on the power play, including the game's first marker 7:19 in when Trevor Mattis struck off Adam Swy and Caleb Morgan assists.

The Reps countered with goals 12 seconds apart by Eric Jones and Grayson Myas. Kevin Banducci assisted on both, and Jones also helped set up Myas' score.

Cooper Macdonell evened the game back up at 2-2 with a score set up by Jared VanWormer and Swy at 6:16 of the second.

Swy scored off a Mattis power-play assist, but was matched by a Jake Peacock short-handed marker to send the game into the third period tied up at three each. VanWormer, Morgan and Mattis scored in the third, as Swy,m Macdonell, Max Schrank, VanWormer and Garrett Frain picked up assists.

Central's Bill Vermetten and the Reps' Saraya Uitvlugt each made 13 saves as both defenses limited scoring opportunities. The Trojans (4-5) play Dearborn Divine Child, a 3-0 winner over St. John's (Ohio) Jesuit.
