Alex Wietrick scored seven seconds into overtime to give Traverse City Central a 4-3 victory over Alpena.
Alpena won the draw, but when the Wildcats tried to dump the puck in Central's zone, it hit Wietrick in the shin guard and he was able to gather it in for a one-man rush and deposit the puck for the game-winner with a shot into the upper corner.
The Trojans (3-3, 2-0 Big North Conference) led 2-0 after first-period goals by Trevor Mattis and Wietrick.
Alpena stormed back on second-period tallies by Trevor Denstaedt, John Bracken and Jason Henry before Caleb Morgan knotted it back up in the third off a Max Schrank assist.
Keanen Armour, Jared VanWormer and Wietrick drew assists on the first-period goals.
Chris Grunst made 24 saves for the Trojans, who host No. 1-ranked Trenton at 6:30 p.m. today
